Thomas Freebairn-Smith

KJR and ABC announcer Thomas Freebairn-Smith came to the U.S. in 1924 from Wemyss Bay, Scotland, bringing with him a pleasant Scottish accent that delighted radio audiences.   After a year at KOIN and KEX in Portland, he joined KJR as its Studio Director.  His career later took him to KNX in Los Angeles in 1933.
