Al Pearce,
whose KFRC program "Happy Go Lucky Hour" was a hit up and down the
Pacific Coast starting in 1928, and in 1932 he moved his show to the
NBC Blue network where he quickly became a national sensation.
Pearce was known for his bashful door-to-door salesman
character, Elmer Blurt (right). His program was heard on NBC
until 1937, and then moved to CBS until 1944.
