KNBC Waterfront Broadcast, 1950s
KNBC announcer Jack Wagner records a broadcast from the San Francisco waterfront in the mid 1950s. An engineer runs the microphone mixer. (Union rules prevented NBC announcers from operating their own equipment.) The tape recorder is the famous Ampex 601 professional suitcase portable that was a radio industry workhorse into the 1960s.
