LEFT:  The Audio control room at KPO in Belmont, as originally installed by General Electric. It consisted of audio amplifiers and switching equipment that received the KPO programs by telephone line from the studios at 111 Sutter Street in San Francisco.

By the 1940's, the audio control panel had undergone a few enhancements and a paint job.  Here, an older Joe Baker looks over the shoulder of a transmitter engineer who writes the daily operations log.
