NBC ANNOUNCER GRAHAM McNAMEE

Graham McNamee practically invented the art of radio announcing, and was the industry’s first nationally-known celebrity personality. In the 1920's, he announced hundreds of news and sports events, first for WEAF in New York, and then for the NBC Network. In the 1930's, he emcee'd dozens of NBC's most popular programs. It was said that more people had heard his voice than any other human voice in the history of the world.

Graham McNamee was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Radio in 1960. In 1984, he was inducted into The American Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame, and in 2011 to the Radio Hall of Fame.
